Welcome to the Sustrans Chase Rangers blog.

Sustrans is a leading UK charity enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make. Please click on the following links to see videos of the Sustrans story... In the beginning and
Building the network.

In 1995 Sustrans were granted money from the Millennium Lottery Fund to create the National Cycle Network.

If you look at the map of it below you will see there is a section that has not been completed and that 'missing link' is Cannock Chase!

There is no such group as the 'Chase Rangers' really. We're just a few Staffordshire Rangers (Dave, Jean, Bob, Paul and Mike) who are looking into the possibility of getting the 'missing link' of NCN 5 completed across Cannock Chase. It's well overdue and needs to be completed sooner rather than later!

While we wait for the 'missing link' of NCN 5 to be completed we are trying to extend NCN 5 from Stafford to Brocton at the north end of the link and from Chasewater to Prospect Village at the south end of the link.

The 'NCN 5 missing link' is around 16 miles long.

It's between NCN 5 at Weeping Cross in Stafford & NCN 5 at Chasewater in Burntwood.

The 'missing link' is shown as a dashed red line in the map below.
